Troop Positions

Troop 7 is a boy led Troop, and one of the best ways for a scout to develop leadership skills is by holding a position within the Troop.

A scout is elected by all the members of the Troop to become the Senior Patrol Leader (or SPL).

The SPL then appoints a Troop Guide as well as a set of Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders (or ASPLs).

The Troop Guide focuses on helping the new scouts learn and advance.

Each ASPL assists a specific set of other Troop positions (see the chart below).

When a scout reaches age 18, he has the opportunity to become a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.
